Board Member Pleads Guilty To Role In Thomas Case
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Another person involved in a corruption case that led to the resignation of a D.C. Council member has pleaded guilty to his role in the case.
James Garvin, 55, of Upper Marlboro pleaded guilty to a felony charge for failing to report and concealing the misappropriation of $392,000 in government grants on Wednesday. A sentencing date has not been set, but attorneys have agreed to a maximum of six months in jail and a fine of up to $5,000.
The corruption case involves the theft of government funds by former D.C. Councilmember Harry Thomas Jr.
