Board Approves $1.25M For School Construction
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The Maryland Board of Public Works has approved $1.25 million for school construction projects in Cecil and Harford counties.
The board approved the grants on Wednesday. Money for the projects was raised by an increase in the state's sales tax on alcohol.
Cecil County will get about $416,000, and Harford will get about $833,000.
In Cecil, $265,000 will be used to replace a track at North East High School. Another $65,000 will be used to replace the roof on the school's field house.
In Harford, Havre de Grace Elementary School will get central cooling plant upgrades, costing $333,750. Church Creek Elementary School also will get central cooling plant upgrades, which will cost about $500,000.
