Blue Angels Dedicate Airshow To Midshipman Killed In Amtrak Crash
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- Spectacular sight. The Blue Angels put on an air show over Annapolis for the US Naval Academy's commissioning week.
Marcus Washington reports hundreds came out to watch the show.
A lot of people stood and watched the show; it was a sky show like no other.
It's the show people anticipated seeing.
"We always come out and watch the Blue Angels," said one woman. "We just love it."
The love of every formation and stunt.
"Seeing the cool stunts they're going to do today," said one. "I'm pretty excited."
What has become a tradition during the Naval Academy's Commissioning Week: the people come and the Blue Angels perform.
"To be able to do it is just a dream come true," said one.
Above the Severn River, the Blue Angels reached heights of 9,000 feet in the air---all while performing high speed, aerobatic precision maneuvers.
"We're all privileged and honored to be doing this. We don't take the responsibility lightly," said one.
"These are our guys; they're out there fighting for our country and it's one of the things that makes Annapolis so special," said one woman.
Four of the Blue Angels are Naval Academy graduates, including the first female Blue Angel.
