BLOG: Torrey Smith Gets No Respect From Cromartie
As if Sunday night's prime time matchup between the Ravens and the Jets needed anymore drama with the return of ex-Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan and former wide receiver Derrick Mason, the Jets Antonio Cromartie took some cheap shots at Ravens rookie wide out Torrey Smith today in New York.
Smith, coming off a brilliant game in St. Louis where he recorded three touchdowns, almost four, and notched 155 yards in just his third NFL game, proved he can contribute to the passing game on a team that lost Mason, TJ Houshmandzadeh, Donte Stallworth and Todd Heap over the offseason. I guess, however, Cromartie was not impressed.
"He had one big game, that's it," Cromartie told the New York media regarding Torrey Smith. "He has five catches for his whole career and a three-game career."
Those are fighting words if I've ever heard any.
I will do my best to get reaction from Smith on Friday when the Ravens have their final practice before Sunday's big game.
Your thoughts on Cromartie's comments?
