BLOG: Torrey Smith...
What a coming out party for Torrey Smith. He had the most unbelievable first game, better than any rookie in the history of the league. He had 3 touchdowns in the first quarter and finished the game with with 5 receptions, 158 yards receiving, 3 touchdowns and 1 rush for 10 yards. I don't think anybody saw that coming, especially me. I received some negative emails this past week over my comments last week on Smith. I'm not sure people were listening all that well to me. I was defending Torrey Smith, saying he needed more time to play at this level. He had no O.T.A's and no mini camps to learn this offense and get comfortable with Flacco. The expectations put on a second round pick, who is still very raw coming into the league, were way to high. I think in due time he will be a solid player. Those expectations were way to high, but enjoy this game, it was a big one for Smith and the Ravens first road win of the season.
