BLOG: Rounds Of Showers Approaching

After a nice break with sunshine, the next storm started moving our way today. Clouds and spotty showers came in with the first part of it, but this is just the beginning. This will be a different week weatherwise than last week, but the shower and thunderstorm chances return. The storm track is going to cut from the Plains up into New England. That is far enough north that we will stay in the warm air. However, it will also be close enough to bring rounds of showers and thunderstorms our way.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms could occur at any time tomorrow, although most of the action will be later in the day. We will warm up to the low 80s while this is happening. Then, more sunshine will break through Tuesday to actually heat things up. Highs will get to the upper 80s with the humidity really building. There will be a round of scattered showers and thunderstorms again later in the day Tuesday. That storm will leave us Tuesday night just as another follows the same track Wednesday with the chance for some showers and thunderstorms. Another storm will quickly track along the same path with the chance for a shower or thunderstorm on Thursday and then a better chance on Friday.

So the daily thunderstorm chances will vary, but they will be there each day this week. Meanwhile, temperatures will run above the average of 76 during this time.

 ATTENTION TEACHERS AND STUDENTS:

There is still time! Our fourth annual Weather Field Trip Day at Camden Yards is right around the corner. This year, it will be Thursday, May 26. If you are unfamiliar with the program, it's a day full of fun. We start out with an action, graphics-filled weather program on the field that features helpers like Nicole Sherry (head groundskeeper), Chris Strong from the National Weather Service and, of course, the Bird. Then, everyone takes a lunch break before enjoying an afternoon Orioles game.
