BLOG: Ravens/Texans Preview
Sometimes when a team reports so many injuries, you wonder whether or not they're trying to pull the proverbial wool over your eyes. That's not the case as the Houston Texans come into Baltimore to face the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium this Sunday.
The Texans are without some really big names. First of all Andre Johnson injured his hamstring two weeks ago against the Pittsburgh Steelers and hasn't played since. He will not play against the Baltimore Ravens this Sunday either.
Next, the defensive equivalent of Johnson, Mario Williams injured tore his pectoral muscle last Sunday in a loss to the Oakland Raiders and is out for the season.
While the Texans have lots of talent, these are two of the key players who make that talent cohesive. These are two big losses for a team that's expected to make a run in the AFC South. To add to that, Matt Schaub sat out of practice earlier this week but he will play.
The Ravens have injuries as well, but those are the same injuries they have been dealing with all season. While Lee Evans practiced Wednesday, he did not practice Thursday. He's questionable and it looks like Jimmy Smith and Chris Carr are doubtful. It seems that everyone else will be back for this game against the Texans.
That makes this game a potential blow-out. The Ravens are focused and they win at home.
