BLOG: Ravens' New Found Rival?
Quick, who was the Head Coach of the New York Jets before Rex Ryan? Even if you knew it was Eric Mangini, you had to think about it for awhile. Ryan has become the face of that organization in a hurry.
Some Baltimore Ravens fans have visions of what life would have been like if Steve Bisciotti would have made Ryan the coach of the Ravens instead of John Harbaugh. Ryan has the gift of gab that some love in their coach. He's convinced everyone both on and off the field that the Jets are one of the most entertaining teams in the NFL.
With Rex Ryan's departure, and the fact that he took a few Ravens with him, the Jets have become a new rival in the Charm City. Both teams will jockey for position in the AFC this year, AGAIN and that's why their match-up this week at M&T Bank Stadium so important.
Sure, the fans of the Ravens hate the Pittsburgh Steelers, but I'm thinking the Jets have moved slightly ahead of the Indianapolis Colts as the number two team you'd love to beat. Yeah, the Colts will always have the history, but as far as for the here and now, the Jets are higher on the hit list. Besides, the Colts aren't any good right now anyway.
