BLOG: Ravens Best In The AFC
You know me. Yes, I have some issues with things that took place in the Baltimore Ravens' 29-14 win over the Houston Texans. I am very concerned with the Red Zone efficiency to name just one.
However, I have no problem with calling this team the best team in the AFC. They have an offense that can score "enough" points to win games. Ray Rice is a weapon in every sense of the word and when used the way he was used Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium, the Ravens offense is a force.
On the defensive end, the Ravens just get it done. In fact, their defense is what separates them from the New England Patriots. The Ravens have the ability to, not only stop you, but to make plays with turnovers and sacks. That makes them downright dangerous.
What you're seeing with this team is the development of an Anquan Boldin and Joe Flacco's relationship. Flacco targeted Boldin nine times for eight receptions and 132 yards. Flacco completed two passes of over 50 yards with a 56 yarder to Boldin and a 51 yarder to Torrey Smith. Smith finished with three receptions and 84 yards.
This team is the very best the AFC. Now, there's more than half the season left to go in either direction, but for now, they are the best.
