BLOG: Now I'm Intrigued....
So, I never thought I would be blogging about the Women's World Cup, in actuality two of my least favorite things came together... Soccer and Women's sports. I know that sounds harsh, but I'm being honest. I'm starting to get more into soccer after last year's World Cup and the only women's sport I watch outside of the Olympics is tennis. I think the WNBA is the worst thing that was ever invented. I absolutely had no intention on watching any of the WWC but the game caught my eye as I was finishing up a radio show at Nicks Fish House.
Abby Wambach tied the game with an amazing header in the 122 minute of the game. Turns out that was the latest goal scored in World Cup history. I didn't know the whole story until after the game. Finding out about the adversity and momentum swings that these ladies overcame. If I am being brutally honest, its one of the coolest sports moments for me in the past few years. Watching the penalty kicks and being on the edge of my seat on each turn has really got me excited for the next game. I'm feeling especially patriotic and trying to be a little more respectful to the ladies, because these women have game!!!
