BLOG: Mike Flanagan
I was absolutely stunned to hear the news last night that Mike Flanagan was dead at the age of 59. As someone who used to frequent 33rd street as a kid, Flanagan was one of my heroes. Left handed like me, I used to pretend I was Mike when pitching in the backyard with friends. I will choose to think of the positive memories about Flanny. The 1979 Cy Young Award, being a part of the 83 World Series champion Baltimore Orioles. Finishing the last game at Memorial Stadium with not a dry eye in the house, and being a part of a combined no hitter in Oakland. It sucks to lose your heroes. RIP "Flanny"
