BLOG: It's Flacco Time

Ravens QB Joe Flacco is heading into his 4th NFL season and it's time for him to take the next step as a player. I have been saying throughout the off-season that Flacco is going to lead the team to a Super Bowl title within three years. I think that might happen sooner rather than later.

Flacco has helped Baltimore get to the NFL Playoffs in each of his first three seasons. His record in the post-season is a respectable 4-3. However, he has not played well in the playoffs other than last season's wild-card win in Kansas City against the Chiefs.

During the past two regular seasons, Flacco has thrown for a combined 46 TD passes, 22 INT's and 7235 yards. Hopefully, his stats will get even better in 2011 and he will be given more responsibility to make things happen. With the release of Todd Heap and Derrick Mason, Joe has lost the two leading receivers in the history of the franchise. He will need to develop a realationship with a new go-to guy. Another problem Flacco may face is with the offensive line. Over the past two years, he has been sacked 76 times.

That being said, the time is now for Joe Flacco to take his game to the next level. It's time for him to own the offense. It's time for him to get it done in the playoffs. It's time for him to beat Ben Roethlisberger. For the Ravens to reach their full potential as team, Flacco has to be the man.

The time is now.
