WEATHER BLOG: Improvement
We're done with rain for at least a while. The same front and developing wave of low pressure that caused several hours of rain late Wednesday and early Wednesday night is now consolidating over New England, and pulling all of the rain out to sea.
While there should be clouds as well as some sunshine and a breeze Thursday, most temperatures will wind up within a couple of degrees of 70 Thursday afternoon.
Drier air continues to filter into the mid-Atlantic states and it will allow for some cooler conditions Thursday night and a nice day Friday.
There will be a high-pressure system building into the region from the west Friday and Saturday. And, with a warm-up in store for us, most temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 70s to around 80.
We're still being cautiously optimistic about Mother's Day, but if the next front were to trigger any kind of shower or thunderstorm, it probably will hold off until very late in the day -- or even Sunday night.
Unsettled weather looks as if it will prevail early next week, with chances for showers and a thunderstorm popping up on multiple days.
Have a good day!
