BLOG: Impressions Of The Ravens' First Practice
It was a very hot and humid day where eleven players had issues with heat; so much for three days to break them in gradually… I liked what I saw from Dominique Foxworth. A lot of times when a guy is coming off an ACL, you'll usually see him favoring it, being a little ginger and testing things out. But there was none of that out of the veteran corner. Foxworth displayed quickness, strength in his turns, and overall confidence in his knee. This is a vast improvement compared to what I saw in June.
I've got to give a lot of credit to Sergio Kindle for being out there working hard and putting his face into blockers. He looked pretty good doing it too, showing some explosiveness off the snap from his four point stance. He still has a long way to go fundamentally, which can only be expected out of a guy that hasn't been on the field for two years.
Jah Reid caught my eye when he arrived about halfway through practice. He has the perfect build for a tackle, with long arms and a thick lower body. Jah did a nice job in pass protection, with a punch and has a good balance. The big guy truly looks like a good prospect.
Each of these three guys really caught my eye. I do have to mention Mr. Cody as well. He looked a lot better than he did last year. That being said, the man still needs to get in better condition.
