BLOG: Happy Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day to all the great moms out there!
Even though there were some showers today, they held again until late in the day. That allowed for a lot of sunshine most of the day and the high to climb to 71 degrees. Although there is no huge storm coming our way tomorrow, the main storm track (jetstream) is still running just over Maryland. This does not mean that it will be an all day rain event, but there is the chance for a couple of showers - in between the mix of sunshine and clouds. Temperatures will be climbing back into the low 70s again tomorrow afternoon.
The main jetstream, storm track, will shift slightly off to the south the following few days. Although there could be a shower popping up each day, the chance is much smaller with just rounds of clouds coming in from the showers farther off to our west. Then, a new storm will start moving our way again later in the week. Before that, temperatures will continue to run close to or slightly above the average high of 71 degrees.
ATTENTION TEACHERS AND STUDENTS:
There is still time! Our fourth annual Weather Field Trip Day at Camden Yards is right around the corner. This year, it will be Thursday, May 26. If you are unfamiliar with the program, it's a day full of fun. We start out with an action, graphics-filled weather program on the field that features helpers like Nicole Sherry (head groundskeeper), Chris Strong from the National Weather Service and, of course, the Bird. Then, everyone takes a lunch break before enjoying an afternoon Orioles game.
