BLOG: Glass Third Full
What's the difference between a quarter and third of the season being over? Nothing really; it's far too early to tell what's going to ultimately happen. A fact that's only exacerbated by injuries and an early bye week. A single game separates the quarter mark and a third of the season being completed. So then what do we know about the Baltimore Ravens? We know they have (yet again) an epic defense. We know that Flacco can throw a pretty great deep ball, and do so taking a huge hit after. Flacco was tougher than nails on Sunday, in a week six 29-14 victory over an injury-depleted Texans team. His toughness is one of the reasons that fans love them some "Joe Cool." But, that's a different topic for a different day.
The season is a third in the books and this team has proven to be good, very good. Can they be great? Only time and the health-factor will tell.
Time. The key for healing and information to help answer the remaining questions.
Halftime adjustments to run the ball helped make me a believer that the coaches have a grasp on the strength of their team. The second half looked like the Ravens team that it can, and should be, all the time. Run first, deep pass, tight end heavy offense. Dynamic, tough and clock burning. If fully healthy and committed to that plan, the Baltimore Ravens will have a hard time losing too many games. But it's still early, which should be a good thing.
