BLOG: Danny O'Brien Is Pretty Good
The Maryland Terrapins played the Miami Hurricanes in college football on Labor Day evening and--believe it or not--the big story really wasn't the new Maryland uniforms. The big story is that QB Danny O'Brien can play.
O'Brien, the 2010 ACC Rookie of the Year, picked up where he left off last season by leading the Terps to an exciting 32-24 victory over "The U".
By throwing for 348 yards and a TD, O'Brien displayed his skills to a national television audience as he helped Randy Edsell earn his first win as Maryland's football coach.
A sophomore from North Carolina, O'Brien is the most talented quarterback the Terps have had in years. He's cool under pressure and plays with maturity beyond his age.
While Edsell is definitely putting his stamp on the program, O'Brien is the key to this team's success.
Monday's Maryland win was fun, Byrd Stadium was rocking and the new uni's made national news.
But as the season rolls on, we won't be talking about how nice--or ugly--the uniforms are. We will be talking about how good Danny O'Brien is.
