BLOG: Clearing And Nice
An upper-air disturbance has been hanging back to the west today, even though it's trying to clear the coast. The cold air aloft has still helped to trigger a shower and brief downpour in parts of the area this afternoon. All the activity should be gone this evening and high pressure will promote dry weather for tomorrow. Humidity will increase again Thursday ahead of the next storm system moving in from the west. We could see a couple of showers and thunderstorms from that system by Thursday afternoon. Thunderstorms will remain in the area both Thursday night and Friday, but the boundary and upper trough should clear the coast in time for Saturday to turn out rain-free.
High pressure building into the Eastern Region will bring nicer and warmer weather tomorrow.
Most temperatures should be in the upper 80s, depending upon location. Then on Thursday, as we said yesterday, the focus of our attention will be on a front that will be pushing through the Great Lakes and the Ohio Valley. It is possible that some areas, especially those north and west of I-95 and the coastal communities, may get a shower or thunderstorm by day's end. But, most of the showers and thunderstorms we're anticipating should occur later on Thursday night or at almost any time on Friday.
Saturday's forecast is tricky. We can envision how there may still be another shower or thunderstorm in spots, or it may just turn out to be a dry day. We're a little more confident that Sunday will be a rain-free day.
