Black Leads Morgan State Past Florida A&M 78-67
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Justin Black had 20 points and eight rebounds, and Morgan State watched a 20-point second-half lead shrink five before holding off Florida A&M 78-67 in the Mid-Eastern Conference regular-season finale for both teams Thursday night.
Dewayne Jackson had 15 points to become the school's No. 6 all-time scorer with 1,537 career points.
Ian Chiles shot 9 of 13 from the field and scored a career-high 18 points and Shaquille Duncan had 11 for the Bears (14-14, 10-6), who have won five straight and eight of their past nine.
Muhammad Abdul-Aleem had 16 points and Jamari Bradshaw 13 for the Rattlers (8-22, 5-11), who have lost three straight.
Leading 41-30 at halftime, Morgan State opened the second half with an 18-7 run for a 58-38 advantage on Duncan's layup.
Florida A&M closed to 70-65, but Black scored five points down the stretch to secure the victory.
