Bill Would Create Pilot Program On Concussions
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Del. Jon Cardin is sponsoring a measure to start a pilot program aimed at detecting when student athletes may have suffered a concussion.
Cardin will testify on the measure on Wednesday in the House Ways and Means Committee.
The program would equip student athletes with impact sensors to determine when a person may have had an impact to the head that could have caused a concussion.
Cardin, D-Baltimore County, says the cost of the program and the impact sensors would be paid for by the sensor manufacturers in order to limit the cost to school districts.
