Bill Clinton To Speak At Delaney Fundraiser
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A spokesman for Maryland congressional candidate John Delaney says former President Bill Clinton will headline a fundraiser for the Democratic challenger Oct. 16 in Washington.
Delaney spokesman Will McDonald on Friday confirmed the event. It will be held at the home of Atlantic Media Chairman David Bradley. Ticket prices start at $1,000. The event was first reported by The Baltimore Sun.
Delaney is a Potomac businessman making his first run for Congress against 10-term Republican incumbent Roscoe Bartlett in Maryland's 6th Congressional District. The district was made competitive by redistricting last year.
Clinton endorsed Delaney in the March primary. The endorsement helped Delaney defeat state Sen. Rob Garagiola for the Democratic nomination despite strong support among state party leaders for Garagiola.
