BGE: All Systems Operating Well Following Quake
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore Gas & Electric spokesman Rob Gould says the utility's systems appear to be operating well, although inspections are ongoing following an earthquake along the East Coast.
The utility, which serves about 1.2 million electric customers in central Maryland and more than 650,000 natural gas customers, had about 1,800 electric outages at 2:30 p.m. Gould says it isn't clear if those outages are related to the quake.
The 5.9 magnitude earthquake was centered in Virginia and was felt from Georgia to Massachusetts.
