The popular 1983 film has been adapted for the stage, including popular hits "What a Feeling," "Maniac," and the addition of 16 new songs written specifically for the show. Catch this inspiring tale with Grammy Award-winning music at the beautiful Hippodrome theater, which brought Broadway Across America to the Baltimore area. Flashdance follows the story of Alex Owens, who supports her dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer by working as a steel mill welder by day and an exotic dancer by night. When Alex falls in love with her boss, Nick Hurley, she finds the courage and determination to make her dreams come true. This is a perfect show to take a loved one or friend to see.

More often than not, it is easy to forget to show love to family members. This year, take the family out to Toby's Dinner Theater for a great time. Playing at the theater in Baltimore is "The Wiz," made popular by the 1978 film starring Michael Jackson and Diana Ross. Dorothy is a school teacher in Harlem, N.Y., mistakenly sent to a magical land where she befriends a scarecrow, a tin man and a lion and tries to track down the Wiz who just might be able to send her home. Sing along to "He's the Wizard," "Believe in Yourself" and the famous "Ease on Down the Road."

Look out for "Fiddler on the Roof," the classic play about a Jewish father facing marrying off his daughters amidst pre-revolutionary Russia. He juggles the strong wills of his daughters with the Tsar's edict that Jews must leave their village. Favorite hit songs include "If I Were a Rich Man," "Sunrise, Sunset" and "Matchmaker." This play about a family facing tough times is sure to make you appreciate the ones you love even more.
