Café Gia, in the heart of Little Italy, offers a ruby red sangria called Gina's Sangria that is sweet and fruity with bubbles from Lambrusco (Italian orange soda), served with citrus fruit, peaches and a triple sec floater. Each glass is $7 or $5 during happy hour. Bonus: come here on Wednesday for Pasta, Pizza and Risotto night, when the $10 menu offers pasta, pizza and risotto specials.

The champagne sangria offers ginger peach white tea, fresh fruit and sparkling wine. The white combines white wine with ginger peach white tea served with fresh fruit. The blush combines blush wine with pomegranate white tea served with fresh fruit. The red takes red wine and adds fruity Rooibos Paradise red tea served with fresh fruit. During the daily happy hour from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., sangria is $3 a glass and $12.50 a pitcher. Regular price is $6 a glass and $25 a pitcher.

Willow, which is located in Fells Point, offers diners a Tex Mex experience. The beverage menu was developed by Doug Atwell and has brought patrons a very creative sangria that is perfect for warm twilight evenings. The White Chameleon has Fuji apple, cinnamon, honey, yellow chartreuse and surprisingly red beet juice. The Ginger Red has ginger, star anise, cinnamon, orange and cassis (liqueur made from blackcurrants). Each glass is $7 and a carafe pours five glasses is $26. During Happy Hour, you can get a glass for $5.

Executive Chef Aharon Denrich of Mr. Charles Market in Owings Mills has two creative twists on the sangria. For a red sangria, he uses Boordy's Viva Sangria, port, fresh oranges, apples, pears, strawberries, blackberries and red plums. For a white sangria, he uses Boordy's White Sangria plus late harvest Riesling, oranges, pineapples, apples, nectarines and drop of rose water. Either one is well worth a try.

Historic Boordy Vineyards is located just outside Beltway 695 and offers guests a perfect blend of wine, food and entertainment at one of its events, wine tastings or self-set picnics. Boordy's White Sangria is light and crisp with tropical fruits and citrus — try adding some grapes, green apples and strawberries. The vineyard also makes a red Viva Sangria that is light bodied and sweet with hints of natural spices — add some orange, lemon and peach. Stop by on a Thursday afternoon or evening from May 30 to Sept. 26 for the vineyard's Good Life Farmer's Market, which features local and organic produce, food, wine and music.
