In the north side of Baltimore, in the area called Guilford, there's a gorgeous park with the perfect middle ground between trees, grass and colorful tulips. Developed in the 1920s by local petroleum pioneer and conservationist, John W. Sherwood, the Sherwood Gardens is the most famous tulip garden in North America. Here, approximately 80,000 tulip bulbs are planted annually along other spring flowers. The garden is at its best between the end of April and beginning of May, while rare trees, dogwoods, colored azaleas and magnolias bloom. Let your eyes and senses be enchanted by this magical, tulips' heaven.

An oasis in the middle of the city, the multi-cultural Patterson Park is one of the oldest parks in Baltimore, with three hundred years of history in the Charm City life. Its historical importance in the War of 1812 and gorgeous view of the harbor, transformed the area into a favorite picnic location for Baltimoreans since the early 1800s.
