Akbar Palace, located in a standalone building one block off of Liberty Road in Randallstown, is one of the city's oldest Indian restaurants. Featuring Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi foods, this restaurant offers lunchtime buffets with a great diversity of flavors. Ranging from lamb, poultry, seafood, vegetarian, vegan and dessert options, you are sure to find a bite to satisfy all cravings. Nestled in a strip mall in the Northwest suburbs of Baltimore, China Best offers up a la carte and buffet Chinese and Japanese food, mainly comprised of sushi. China Best is a non-chain restaurant, and about the only non-chain that offers a dinner buffet in the Baltimore region. The sushi section of the buffet is diverse, tasty and offers numerous selections like California rolls, spicy tuna rolls and salmon rolls. Other options on the buffet line include veggies, rice, Chinese entrees and dessert. Choose from some of your favorites like fried rice, orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken. It is best to come early for the largest selection. The lunch buffet is $7.99 and the dinner buffet is $14.85.

Though not in Baltimore per se, Italia's Corner Cafe is found in a strip mall just a short drive off Baltimore Beltway's exit 5 to Ferndale. Whether out driving around in the area on business or just looking for lunch and a Wi-Fi connection, Italia's Corner Cafe is your spot. Enjoy its lunch buffet served on weekdays, boasting an extensive range of options. The buffet always has numerous styles of pizza and a chicken entree. If you show up on a day when the kitchen is serving the Pollo Cacciatore, consider yourself very lucky. Meat falls freely off of the bone and each bite can be smothered in marinara sauce. Grab a drink, too, because beverages are included in the buffet price.

Baltimore's Mt. Vernon neighborhood is home to Kumari Restaurant and Bar, which offers a lunch buffet every day with Northern Indian and Nepalese cuisine. Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Chicken and Sambar (spicy lentil soup) are regulars on Kumari's buffet line. There are a number of quality dishes that rotate in appearance at lunch, but the lineup always averages about 16 or 17 items daily. Grab your plate and head to the Buddha Bar where you can listen to music from Bollywood or enjoy the peace and quiet of the main dining room. The buffet is $8.95 per person plus tax during the weekday, and on the weekend, it expands the buffet with more items, upping the price to $10.95 per person.

Mount Everest Restaurant sits in an unassuming strip mall on the east side of town, but don't let this location fool you. Once in the doors, you will see chandeliers and etched glass dividers. Nepali and Indian cuisine are featured daily. The basmati rice is extremely soft and sticky, and works great for soaking up all of the delicious juices used to flavor the main dishes. There are always five to six vegetarian dishes available, and on the weekends, spicy goat curry is added to the all-you-can-eat menu. Prices fluctuate by one dollar between weekdays and weekends, topping off at $9.99.
