17-Year-Old Charged With Murder Of Bel Air Man
BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- The Harford County Sheriff's Office has charged 17-year-old Donnell Graham for the murder of 29-year-old Patrick Ward. Ward died Friday night in his Bel Air home from multiple stab wounds.
Neighbors said they heard an argument coming from inside Ward's apartment, and when they could not enter by the front door, they did so by climbing on the balcony. Once inside, they saw Graham, who fled the apartment.
Ward was taken to the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center by the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Based on information provided by neighbors and witnesses, patrol deputies identified Donnell Graham. A canine track led the deputies from the crime scene to Graham's apartment building. Harford County Sheriff's Office deputies took Graham into custody without incident.
Detectives determined that Graham attempted to burglarize the victim's home and when Ward unexpectedly confronted him, Graham stabbed him several times.
Graham is charged with first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault and possession of a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure. He is being held at the Harford County Detention Center with no bond after an initial hearing with the district court commissioner.
