Bel Air Man Charged With Setting Fires After Arguement With Girlfriend
BEL AIR, Md. (AP) -- Maryland fire investigators have charged a Harford County man with setting two fires at a woman's Bel Air apartment after an argument.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal says 28-year-old Ryan Lawrence Spann of Joppa has been charged in the fires that were discovered Sunday at Calvert Walk Apartments.
Police say the woman left the apartment after arguing with Spann, but when she returned early Sunday, she found smoke and an alarm sounding.
Firefighters arrived to find two fires had burned themselves out inside the apartment. Damage is estimated to be at least $10,000.
Spann is charged with first- and second-degree arson and is being held at the Harford County Detention Center.
