Baltimore's Most Photogenic Babies Gather In Towson For A Good Cause
BALTIMORE (WJZ)--If you have a baby or young child who can light up the room, you might want to head to Towson Town Center as the Baltimore's Most Photogenic Baby Contest kicks off this weekend.
Ron Matz reports it's a picture perfect way to help the kids at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.
Bella Grace Young was one of the winner's in Baltimore's Most Photogenic Baby Contest.
"Bella was a patient at the Children's Center so we wanted to give back and donate and we found out about the contest. We're going to do it this year too," said Rhonda Weaver, Bella's mom.
And the kids photos are fabulous. The cameras start clicking on Saturday.
"Our photographers are in a new location this year. The photo shoot will take place at the Kids GAP/Baby GAP store at Towson Town Center. We'll be there this Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10 a.m. til 7 p.m.," said Julie Matthews, Casting Director for America's Most Photogenic Baby Contest.
Bethany Johnson was a winner too.
"She won the Voter's Choice Award and she won another category as well. She loves doing it and she's definitely a photogenic baby," said Bethany's mom Crystal Johnson.
Matthews says, "Infants through five years old are eligible. All contestants get a professional modeling photo shoot with our photographer who's been the same guy for 23 years. He's amazing and he takes the best pictures ever."
Bethany and Bella are not only contest winners. Both are former patients at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center.
"We try to give back to Johns Hopkins as much as we can. Bethany was at the Children's Center for about 2 and a half months, so we owe a lot to Johns Hopkins," said Johnson.
Julie Matthews say through August they will be displaying the contestant's photos online for juding and voting.
"At the end we have trophies. It's like the Baby Oscars," she says.
There's a $35 dollar contest entry fee. Infants through 5-year-old are eligible.
