Baltimoreans Ring In The New Year At Parties Across The City
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Might be hard to believe, but not everyone is at the Inner Harbor tonight.
Plenty are still celebrating elsewhere across the city -- getting ready to ring in 2015.
Rick Ritter talks to people celebrating in Baltimore.
Out with the old, in with the new -- slide over 2014. The stage is set, Baltimore's ready for a fresh start and the celebration is on.
At the Pratt Street Ale House, hundreds pack it in for one of the city's biggest parties.
"It's just an upscale, fun, let you hair down if you have it," Dave Rather, owner of Mother's Grille, which partnered up with Pratt Street Ale House for NYE Event.
Dressed to the nines, with everything from a DJ to a buffet.
Over at Captain James in Canton, some prefer the live music and a fine dinner instead of the dance floor.
"It's actually a lot of reflection, we're here with family and that's really important," Michelle said.
At Mother's in Federal Hill, same story different spot.
Chefs serving up their finest before the late night crowd rolls in.
"There will be a lot of people out tonight," Alvin Roberts, Mother's Grille.
Everyone welcoming 2015 in their own special way with one thing in common...
"Everyone is excited about the Ravens, got the playoff game coming up so there's a lot of excitement in the town right now," one patron said.
Plenty of places added extra security for the night. Baltimore city police are also patrolling any bars or restaurants expecting large crowds.
