Maryland's best place to watch performances in classical theater is the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company in Columbia. This spring, Shakespeare's classic comes to life as Portia and Bassanio's romance is dampened when their friend, the merchant Antonio, defaults on a loan to Shylock who then demands a pound of flesh as payment.
