Baltimore Spring Concert Preview

It's hard to believe that spring has finally arrived in Charm City. This season marks the start of baseball, the Masters and the start of spring concerts. There are many great musical acts performing in Baltimore this season. Whether it is country, hip-hop, rock or R&B, there will be plenty of options to choose from. The concert venues in Baltimore, including 1st Mariner Arena, Rams Head Live!, and Pier Six Concert Pavilion, will be putting on the most concerts this spring. Here's a rundown of the five top concerts coming to Baltimore in April and May.

The Ting Tings
Showtime: April 14, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.
Price: $25

The Ting Tings  attracted worldwide success with their smash hit "That's not my name." This is a smart and dynamic act that will have the crowd rocking throughout the duration of the concert. The duo, made up of English dance punk rockers Jules de Martino and Katie White, has sold millions of records globally and will definitely be a long standing musical act for years to come. The show is open to all ages.

Mac Miller
Showtime: April 26, 2012 at 8 p.m.
Price: $30

Mac Miller is an up and coming hip-hop artist who will be performing live at Pier Six on Thursday, April 26. A native of Pittsburgh, Miller been featured in several prominent hip-hop magazines, including XXL. This is Baltimore's chance to see what's sure to be an amazing performance by an emcee on the rise. Miller rose in the ranks of fame with his breakout hit "Donald Trump" in 2011, and quickly grew a fan base through social media outlets. Baltimore is just one of the stops on his Macadelic Tour, and the event is for all ages.

Lynyrd Skynard
Showtime: May 4, 2012 at 6:30 p.m.
Price: $35 - $100

Lynyrd Skynard, one of country music's most long-standing acts, will also visit Pier Six Pavilion this spring on Friday, May 4. This act has been around since the '70s and has one of the most loyal fan bases in any musical genre. You will be hard-pressed to find a Lynyrd Skynard fan who has been disappointed by the band's live performances. The group is well known for such hits as "Sweet Home Alabama" and "Simple Man."

Chicago
Showtime: May 6, 2012 at 6 p.m.
Price: $35 - $75

Chicago, one of the most influential and talented musical groups in the last several decades, will grace the stage at Pier Six on Sunday, May 6. Don't miss the chance to catch the band performing some of their best hits including, "Saturday in the Park" and "25 or 6 to 4." The group has maintained their longevity over the years and provides constant energy for all their performances. This is an all ages show.

New Edition
Showtime: May 20, 2012 at 7 p.m.
Price: $49.50 to $125

If you're a lover of 80s R&B and have been known to belt a note or two from "Candy Girl" in the shower, you're in luck. New Edition, the top selling R&B groups of the decade, is returning to Baltimore to perform some of their most memorable hits. The success of this group launched the solo careers of Bobby Brown, Johnny Gill and Bell Biv Devoe. This concert is part of the group's 30th anniversary and will provide a great and charismatic show. If you were a fan of hits like "Cool It Now" and "Poison," this performance is a must add to your spring concert bucket list.
