Baltimore Police Investigate 3 Overnight Shootings
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore police are investigating three shootings Sunday.
Officers were called to N. Gay Street at around 12:20 a.m. Sunday. An officer found a 45-year-old man who had been shot several times in the left thigh. He told police that he was walking through Billie Holiday Court when he was approached by five or six black men. After they found nothing of value on the victim, the suspects told him to walk away. As he did, one fired several shots, wounding the man. He ran to Gay Street. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There are no descriptions of the suspects.
At around 12:50 a.m., officers were approached by a 37-year-old man who said that he was shot in the 600-block of Potomac Street. He had been shot multiple times in the right arm and chest. He said he was approached by six or seven black men trying to rob him. After taking his cell phone, the suspects shot him multiple times. He was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he is in serious condition. There are no description of the suspects.
At around 2:30 a.m., police found Terrence Joyner, 42, who had been shot several times in the chest. They say that Joyner was involved in an altercation in front of the 7-Eleven on Marble Hall Road when multiple shots rang out. Joyner was taken to Johns Hopkins, where he was pronounced dead. Homicide detectives have several people they are interviewing in reference to this incident.
