Baltimore Police Investigate 2 Overnight Shootings

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore police are investigating two overnight shootings.

According to police, officers were called to the 1300-block of Lakewood Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. for a shooting. They found Darrien Jackson, 22, who had been shot at least once. Jackson was taken to Johns Hopkins. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

At around 3:40 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to Sinai Hospital for report of a walk-in shooting victim. Once there, they met a 24-year-old man who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the left elbow. The man told police he was walking in the 3900-block of Bonner Road when he was approached by two armed, unknown males. The suspects announced a robbery at which point the victim attempted to flee. The suspects then shot the victim. There is no description of the suspects.
