Baltimore Orioles Adam Jones Talks WBC And More
Baltimore Orioles center fielder, gold glover, and all-star, Adam Jones joins The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to talk World Baseball Classic.
Adam discusses the feeling of representing your country in a tournament such as the WBC, as well as how he has to prepare faster for it. He heads out Sunday night to Phoenix has a team meeting and gets to visit with his mother. He talks about a picture he saw of when he was 15 trying out for Team USA and he didn't make it. He feels very blessed that Joe Torre called him out of all the American Outfielders.

He is very glad that he could be a part of the Ravens Playoff travels. The fans were very happy to see him there on the field. He talks specifically about the game in Denver and how miserably cold it was. He says he isn't used to that kind of cold but when Jacoby Jones caught that pass with 30 seconds left, he forgot all about being numb. He says he was jumping around and also jokes that it got so quiet that you could have heard somebody fart from across the stadium. Classic Adam Jones and ball club humor.
He talks about the games once the playoffs started, really starting at the Cal Ripken Jr. statue ceremony game. The atmosphere at home was electric. He said it all felt like when he was watching the Orioles on Sunday Night baseball with Cal Ripken in 1995/96. A packed yard every night of the week, even on Wednesdays. He talks about how the die hard fans and the "lost generation" of fans coming back out and acting like kids again.
Jones also talks about playing under manager Buck Showalter and what thats like to play for "Show" every day.
