Baltimore Officer Injured In Motorcycle Crash
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (AP) -- A Baltimore police officer was injured in a motorcycle accident on Interstate 795 in Owings Mills.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the officer was traveling to a training exercise in the rain when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a jersey wall about 8 a.m. Monday. Maryland State Police said the crash occurred after the officer drove over a metal strip dividing the roadway and an overpass and the motorcycle began to wobble.
State police say the officer laid the motorcycle on its side during the accident to avoid striking other vehicles.
State police say the unidentified officer was taken to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, where preliminary reports showed he suffered non-life threatening injuries.
