Landmarks sought for new Baltimore Monopoly board

Mr. Monopoly needs your help adding iconic Baltimore landmarks and businesses to a new Baltimore Monopoly board.

The traditional game squares will be replaced using the community's feedback. There will also be a customized community chest, chance playing cards and Monopoly money.

Monopoly Baltimore will debut in the fall of 2025.

The toy manufacturer "Top Trumps USA" has a submission form on its website.

"Baltimore is such a unique community with a rich history," said Tim Barney, a Top Trumps representative. "We aim to ensure that Monopoly Baltimore Edition is an accurate portrayal of what Baltimore locals and tourists love about this charming city. Each organization being considered must have established longevity/legacy, credibility, and community engagement. It's all about immortalizing the best of the best in our game. We're looking for the places and things that are quintessentially Baltimore and that truly call it home."

Baltimore has some standout landmarks and attractions, including the Inner Harbor, Oriole Park, M&T Bank Stadium, City Hall and the National Aquarium, among others.

Monopoly officials say the most included are nonprofits, restaurants, attractions, historic landmarks, hotels, sports teams and arenas, zoos &and aquariums, museums, schools and universities, transportation, finance, the arts, utilities, and more. Usually, only 20 to 30 organizations are selected.

The decisions are expected to be made by the middle of April.

"Since we make selections as we go, that means every spot is meant to be filled by that time; so, don't wait to submit until then," Barney said. "In the fall of 2025, we will be hosting a big launch and unveiling party at a popular and recognizable venue in the city. Our game launches are very exciting. It's the first time the completed game is unveiled for the world to see, and it is available for purchase that instant."
