Baltimore Man Killed, 3 Others Injured In Quadruple Shooting Overnight In Annapolis
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- A Baltimore man is dead and three others- including two teens- are injured after an overnight shooting in Annapolis.
Officers responded to Clay Street after reports of multiple gunshots, to find a man wounded lying outside and two teenage victims inside just after midnight.
"Officers responded and located a 28-year-old male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds," said David Stokes, Annapolis Police.
The man, later identified as Shawn McGown from Baltimore, died from his wounds. As officers searched the scene, they found more victims.
"Officers located two 17-year-old juvenile females in a residence of 103 Clay Street suffering from apparent gunshot wounds," Stokes said.
Moments later, Anne Arundel Medical Center called the police to tell them another victim showed up to the hospital for help, a 26-year-old man.
Four victims from a shooting some residents said started with a party.
"It may have been a party, we do know that it was some type of disagreement some type of argument that led to a fight that ultimately led to a shooting," said Ed Jackson, Chief of Annapolis Police.
Police spent Sunday canvassing the neighborhood to learn as much as they could.
"We'll be knocking on door to door to try to find out anything that we possibly can that would lead us to a suspect," Jackson said.
Knowing this much violence can shatter a community.
"When you have this level of violence for me personally as police chief it's very, very frustrating." he added.
Local leaders said Sunday's bloodshed was unlike anything this community has seen before.
"We have had homicides, but nothing as bad as this, this was an attack," said Alderman Fred Paone.
Annapolis' Head of Public Safety suggested more police.
"That we place officers in every challenged community in this city 24/7 365 and this would be indefinitely. No one has ever said Miss Rhonda please remove the officers from this community," said Rhonda Pindell-Charles.
"We've got a problem in this city and we need to do something," Paone said.
Police said the two teenage victims do not have life-threatening injuries and the fourth victim was transferred to Baltimore's Shock Trauma. Authorities are asking anyone with information to please come forward.
