Baltimore Man Charged With Killing Grandmother
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Police say a Baltimore man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of his grandmother.
Baltimore police say Demond Tyler, 36, was arrested Monday. Last week, Shirley Tyler, 67, was found unconscious inside her home in the 3200-block of Spaulding Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene and authorities later ruled that the death was a homicide by asphyxiation.
Police say Demond Tyler was charged with first-degree murder and assault charges. He was being held at the Baltimore City Central Booking and Intake Facility.
It is not known if he has an attorney.
