Baltimore County Worker Died On The Job While Plowing Snow
KINGSVILLE, Md. (WJZ)— A Baltimore County worker died Monday while on assignment plowing snow at the former Gunpowder Falls Golf Course. Though his death was ruled accidental, an investigation is ongoing.
Philip Wayne Higgins, 57, was employed with the county's Property Management Division and had been a county employee for more than 30 years.
Fire Department medical crews were dispatched to the 11000=block of Raphael Road Monday at 11:34 a.m. for a report of a cardiac arrest. A bystander had called 911 after finding Higgins lying in the parking lot.
EMS personnel found him lying about 10 to 20 feet from his county-issued truck.
Attempts to revive Higgins were unsuccessful and he was transported to Franklin Square Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has ruled multiple injuries the cause of death and the manner of death accidental.
No one else was with him at the time of the incident.
Police say may have been a vehicle-involved accident.
