Baltimore County Restaurant Week Hopes To Draw Big Crowds
TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) -- In the middle of a slow winter and a sluggish economy, the restaurant business in Baltimore County is slow.
Gigi Barnett explains county leaders have a plan to boost reservations.
Patty Ehoff knows how to run a restaurant, but shortly after the holidays the busy season slows down.
"It's like somebody slammed the brakes on because everybody was shopping for Christmas and they've got all of these bills they're anticipating," said Ehoff.
Ehoff owns Razorback's Raw Bar and Grill in Towson, but she may soon see a big boost in reservations.
This week, Baltimore County executives unveiled a tasty plan to lure customers back. They are rolling out two weeks of Baltimore County Winter Restaurant Week.
Ehoff quickly placed her restaurant on the list. It's the first-ever Baltimore County-supported Restaurant Week.
The backings keep the Razorback's kitchen cooking and staff working.
When it comes to drawing a crowd at restaurants, Baltimore County does pretty well. Last year, restaurants in the county brought in more than $1 billion in sales. That's second statewide behind Montgomery County.
Montgomery County restaurants sold more than $1.5 billion of food last year.
