Baltimore County Police Solve Slayings From 1990's
TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Baltimore County police say they've solved the unrelated slayings of two women in the 1990s by using DNA evidence.
Police say the men believed responsible for both slayings are dead, and as a result, their names won't be released.
In October 1994, 32-year-old Karen Brown was found beaten and strangled to death near the Liberty Dam. Police say they got a DNA match last October and interviewed a suspect, who was in prison at the time. Police say the man died in his cell of natural causes before he could be charged.
Twenty-seven-year-old Annelise Lee was beaten and strangled to death inside her Owings Mills apartment in December 1999. Police say they also identified a suspect through DNA last year, and he committed suicide after being arrested on unrelated charges.
