Police Ask For Help In Baltimore Co. Hit-And-Run
EDGEMERE, Md. (WJZ) -- A Baltimore County man is killed after being hit not by one, but two cars in Edgemere.
Rochelle Ritchie spoke with the family, who wants the drivers of those vehicles to turn themselves in.
The family says they are willing to forgive whoever did this. They simply want them to take responsibility so they can have closure.
North Point Road near Delmar Avenue is back open after being closed for hours Thursday night, as Baltimore County Police investigated a hit-and-run that left David Mack, 77, dead. The victim was not hit once, but twice. Both vehicles fled the scene.
"We don't have a good description so we're really looking for help from the public to give us some idea of who was involved in this accident last night," said Elise Armacost, Baltimore County Police.
"We would give anything to anybody, he would give the shirt off his back," said Steven Mack, victim's son.
His family is begging for closure.
"We're ready to forgive. If you are sorry you did this and you come forward I will personally ask for leniency," he said.
The victim's son says his dad had just left the VFW and it was only a few minutes later that he was hit and killed.
Neighbors remain in disbelief because of the horrific scene.
"It's a shame, it's eerie. Somebody hit him and then somebody else run over him," said Walt Wills.
Others were disturbed neither of the drivers stopped to help.
"I would know if I hit a stick let alone a body," said Angel Mizell.
Baltimore County Police say David Mack died at the scene. His death was the second fatal hit-and-run accident in the county in just 24 hours.
"They're going to find you eventually, so it'd better if you came forward so we can find out who's responsible," Steven Mack said.
Right now, Baltimore County Police do not have a description of the vehicle involved in this hit-and-run. If you have any information, you are asked to call them right away.
