Baltimore Business Owners Donating 20% of Sales to Help Flooding Victims
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Owners of Baltimore's Nacho Mama's and Mama's on the Half Shell say they will be donating a portion of their sales this week to help the flooding victims of Ellicott City.
Two people were killed and a community was left destroyed after nearly a month's worth of rain Saturday evening sent rising floodwaters rushing through the historic city.
"The devastation of Ellicott City businesses affected so many lives we wanted to do something to help," said Jackie McCusker. "The restaurant community is one that supports each other. Now is the time to come together and do what we can to help them rebuild."
Jackie McCusker and Phil Gelso, who are owners of the Canton business, say they will donate 20% of all food and beverage purchased this week.
