Attempted Robbery Suspect Bites Police Officer
LOTHIAN, Md. (WJZ) -- An attempted robbery suspect allegedly bit a police detective and assaulted several others.
According to police, a woman attempted to rob the BP Gas Station at Southern Maryland Boulevard at approximately 8:30 a.m. Friday.
She left without any money; neither of the gas station employees were injured.
A customer managed to get the woman's license plate number and told police.
Around 9:15 a.m., officers found the car but didn't see the woman. The vehicle was taken by police and the woman was later identified as Sherry Hunt, located and arrested by police.
Hunt was taken to the Criminal Investigation Division, where police say she bit one detective and assaulted an officer and several other detectives.
Hunt has been charged with robbery and assault.
