1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized After MTA Bus Accident
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- At least one person is dead and another person was taken to a local hospital after an MTA bus crash in Anne Arundel County Thursday afternoon.
An MTA bus and another vehicle were involved in the crash near Curtis Bay, near Fort Smallwood Rd. at Energy Pkwy.
George Solis spoke with a man who says he tried to help the victims involved.
"It devastated me cause I've never touched a person when they were dying before and he took his last breath and he gasped and that was the end of it," said George Treas III, who witnessed the crash.
It's still unclear how the wreck occurred or who may have been at fault.
For one bystander the crash is an all too familiar scene.
"It brings back a lot of memories, unfortunately not such great ones. It brings back memories makes you think and I pray and thank God I made it through mine," said bystander Terri Wenger.
Both the bus and the car were removed from the scene by tow truck.
The roads were closed for sometime as crews worked to clean the wreckage. It is now back open.
The name of the victim has not been released.
The driver of the car was confirmed dead after the crash, the other was taken to Shock Trauma and is expected to survive.
Authorities say there were no passengers aboard the bus at the time of the accident.
