Fight In Owings Mills Leads To Stabbing & Shooting

OWINGS MILLS, Md. (WJZ)—New details are in about a violent attack near Owings Mills. Three people are suffering from stab wounds.

Kai Jackson has more on the investigation underway.

It was a chaotic scene and Baltimore County police are still sorting out details and looking for suspects.

It happened around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at #7 Spectator Lane in Owings Mills. Baltimore County police say three to five people went to the house and got into a fight with the occupants. A brawl followed and three people were stabbed inside the home.

Police say two of the victims were residents, a 19-year-old male and 25-year-old female. The other victim was a 20-year-old male.

Sky Eye Chopper 13 captured video of the active police crime scene.

"We have two injuries. One is being transported to a hospital for treatment of a potentially life threatening injury. We also have somebody going to the hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening injury. The other residents of that home have minor injuries that did not require medical treatment," said Baltimore County Police Detective Cathy Batton.

Police seized a car at Sinai Hospital that they believe transported the 20-year-old stabbing victim, who is now in stable condition. They also recovered a car at the scene of the fight.

There were reports that shots were fired during the melee. Detectives are still attempting to determine who fired the gunshot and their connection to the fight. The bullet struck the suspects' Crown Victoria but no one was injured.

"We do believe that a shot was fired. We're still attempting to gather forensic evidence and we do not have any reports of anyone being shot at this time," Batton said.

Late Tuesday night, Baltimore County police were still looking for suspects. They tell WJZ this crime left a lot of evidence and details to sort out.

The fight and subsequent stabbings were upsetting to residents in the Queen Anne Village complex.

"It's early in the evening on the weekday and it pretty much tells you it could happen anywhere at any time. You just don't know," said Mark Levinson.

There were concerns that the incident may have been gang-related. Police say right now they have no evidence to support that theory.

No one has been charged but charges are expected to be filed soon.
