Artscape Draws A Crowd With Variety Of Offerings
BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Despite the rainy day, a pretty good-sized crowd showed up to Artscape. The annual festival is truly Baltimore with something for just about everyone.
Adam May reports.
"This may be the last opportunity to see the man-eating chicken!"
From carnival barkers to clay potters, Artscape in Baltimore attracts all kinds.
"It's just a little crazy, fun, weird," Maiju Lehmmijoki-Garner said.
"It makes little creatures," Joelle Medici, a vendor at Artscape, said.
Medici is from Michigan selling handmade fleece stuffed monsters. She calls Artscape:
"Really unique, with everything combined together."
Speaking of unique...
"I am a surrealist artist. My art is almost like whimsical meets grotesque," Medici said.
Jen McClaning is from Harford County.
"I love Artscape. Coming four years. I've always wanted a booth here. It's my dream and now its raining," she said.
But she's selling art anyway to a crowd full of locals and out-of-towners.
"It's the people, the best of the best. Everyone comes to Baltimore. This why Baltimore is awesome-- the arts and all the culture," Matt Lippold from Pennsylvania said.
If you couldn't make it out on Saturday, the festival also runs on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
