Arson Suspect Arrested On Arrival At Dulles
WASHINGTON (AP) -- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have arrested a Virginia man wanted on arson and fraud charges in Maryland when he landed at Washington Dulles International Airport.
Officials say Jose Mejia Pineda, 24, of Alexandria arrived on a flight from El Salvador on Tuesday. Authorities say he has waived extradition to Maryland.
Bruce Bouch, spokesman for the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal, says Pineda set his car on fire on Jan. 22 in Dunkirk for insurance. Bouch says Pineda is charged with second-degree arson and fraud.
