Arrest Warrant Issued In Killing Of AU Professor
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A spokeswoman for the Montgomery County police department says authorities have issued an arrest warrant for a suspect in the killing last year of an American University professor.
Sue Ann Marcum was found dead last October in her Bethesda home.
Police said the cause of death was asphyxia and blunt force trauma.
Officer Amy Daum, a spokeswoman for the police department, said Friday an arrest warrant had been issued charging Jorge Rueda Landeros with murder. She did not have any more information.
The Washington Post, which first reported the arrest warrant, reports that police believe Landeros is in Mexico and that he had worked as a yoga instructor in the Washington area and other locations. The Post reports Landeros has been proclaiming his innocence in Internet writings.
